What is a good pest control chemical to use in my home?

I have recently started seeing small roaches in my home. I keep my home clean so I dont know why they are there or where they are coming from. I guess the cold weather is drawing them in. Anyway I need something that I can buy or make at home to get rid of them . I cant afford the expensive terminators. Thanks!
