Is it fair for my mom to take most of my financial aid money?

Ya know, I thought I was the only person with this problem. This is an every semester thing for me, and like you, I know my parents are having financial issues but so am I. I'm gonna give my mom some of it, but at the same time, I'm not giving her most of it. No, it's not fair, and as a previous answerer said, it's to help with the cost of attending college. As far as giving your mom some money to help, cost of living is an important factor, and the money IS supposed to be used to help with that. I suggest you maybe pay the electric bill or rent, and let that be the money you give her. That way you know it's going to a bill and you dont just give the money to her for her own use. Thats what I do when I get mine. That way I help them and it helps me at the same time knowing Im gonna have power or whatever.....just a thought.
