I want to know how to Ollie on a street surfer?

i have a street surfer and i saw a commercial for the ripstick g and i saw the guys jumping and i noticed that the way they jumped wasn't the same as an ordinary skateboard but i can't do it on those either. i do own a regular skateboard and i am working on my jump. i can't understand how they do it because the wheels are too high to get the board to snap up fast enough. any one know how to do it? is there a difference in how you do it on a ripstick or a street surfer or is there something else?
