Research paper and plagarizing?

I am in college and we have to do tons of research papers all of the time. If you cite something and use them word for word it is best to use direct quotes. It would look like this: According to the Wikipedia website; "Rosa Parks organized and collaborated with civil rights leaders" (Rosa, 1). I just picked a random subject but you can do this on any topic. If you rephrase something in your own words it would look like this: Rosa parks got together with other civil rights leaders and they organized and worked on the movement (Rosa, 1). It does not matter if you use direct quotes, or rephrase the information, just make sure you cite everything properly.
